Dalys supply upgraded telephony for Hope Against Cancer
As a Hope supporter, Dalys was keen to assist with reducing costs and generally helping to improve communications for this Leicester based charity. Hope Against Cancer raises money to fund research projects for cancer diagnosis, treatment and care in Leicestershire and Rutland and was instrumental in making Leicester a Centre of Excellence for Cancer Research in 2014, one of only 15 in the UK.
Hope’s faithful NEC DXE had served the charity well for many years. However, technology moves on, and functions that would assist a forward thinking organisation were needed, particularly to assist the charity’s requirements to keep in regular contact with volunteers, sponsors and for event organisation.
Dalys installed an NEC SV system on SIP lines which gave Hope greatly reduced lines rental and call charges. The decision to use SIP was made to keep costs at a minimum whilst utilising the fact that the charity is located in an area where fibre to the cabinet broadband was already available.
Staff and volunteers in the Hope office had not previously had DDI numbers or individual voicemail which helps with making sure that messages are received by the appropriate person and with voicemail to email included in the programming messages can be listened to on other devices within or away from the premises.
