Performing Rights - Useful Information for customers

Is your company breaking the law?

Playing music within the workplace, that can be heard by more than one person, whether they are employees or customers, may legally require you to obtain a licence.

This includes recordings on radios, CDs, PCs, MP3s and, you may not realise, on your phone system.

If your company has music playing whilst callers are on hold either with messages or without, you either need to have a Performing Rights Licence or ensure that the music you play is 'rights-free' music.

The generic music-on-hold products supplied by Dalys come under the latter category. Dalys only supplies commercial CD or MP3 players with 'rights-free' music, which means that the producers of these products own the licences. Consequently, there is no need for you to go to the trouble and expense of obtaining a licence for use of these products.

If you have, or you are about to use our bespoke information-on-hold service, rest assured that the music beds are 'rights-free' and the licences to all the music choices are owned by Daly Systems Ltd and the recording studio, for the purpose of telephone system Information on Hold.
