Bushloe High School - VoIP system

Daly Systems became an ESPO approved supplier in 2005 and has recently completed the contract to provide a VoIP telephone system for Bushloe High School in Wigston, Leicestershire which opened this autumn.

Bushloe was completely rebuilt over the last 12 months? to provide a high-tech environment for the 800 pupils and staff.

The contract was awarded as a result of a highly successful installation carried out by Daly Systems at Castle Rock High School in Coalville which was the first Leicestershire school to have a 100% VoIP system installed.

Like Castle Rock, Bushloe High School’s requirements could be met by the NEC Aspire system, using a VoIP solution to ensure future-proofing and flexibility for the school.  Cat 6 cabling installed as part of the new build guaranteed that any of the telephone handsets can be plugged into any sockets keeping the identity (extension number) and feature-set of each individual handset, wherever it is located within the school.

Auto Attendant allows parents to leave a message to advise of the absence of their child or to speak to the receptionist who can then transfer the calls. Voice-mail allows messages to be left for individual staff members, which are then accessed via a pin-number for added security.

Leicestershire County Council and their IT contractors were pleased to be able to pass the complete telecoms project to Daly Systems, which included liaising with the line providers. Malcolm Roe, Daly’s Project Manager for ESPO installations said, “There were a few challenges with this project, particularly with getting lines to the new building, there were major problems with collapsed ducts and insufficient infrastructure, which resulted in special permissions having to be obtained to close roads and cross adjacent land.”
